Abortion's Unfortunate Victims |
||||||||
| Jack Murphy, BerkshireEagle.com, April 13, 2008 | ||||||||
| The Iraq war is now five years old and 4,000 American troops have been killed. But let us note that the unfortunate men and women killed had freely chosen to serve their country, knowing that in the event of war they might be the victims. Consider the unfortunate victims of abortion. According to statistics from the research arm of Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the nation, an estimated average of 1 million pre-born babies are deliberately killed by their mothers every year. These babies had no choice in the matter. Under the guise of a woman's "right to choose," the living, growing, pre-born girls and boys were deprived of their right to a continued existence. Who condones, promotes and encourages this practice? The answer is the Democratic Party and so-called liberals who already were given life by their parents. Why don't liberals and Democrats promote life for pre-born humans? Why don't they encourage pregnant women to carry their babies to term and develop programs that will help them keep their babies? Or why don't they promote adoption when the mothers lack the ability to raise a child? Surely there are capable, man/ woman married couples who could be encouraged financially and otherwise to adopt children and supply the much-needed parenting in our troubled society. World wide, much of society is endangered by fertility rates that are sinking because of destructive abortion attitudes. Fortunately, the fertility rate of women in the United States is not yet stressed thanks to recent immigrants who believe in large families. However, if the liberal attitudes that developed and continue to promote abortion prevail we may very well end up like some European and Asian nations that are trying to increase populations but without success. Here in the United States, it is becoming increasingly apparent that young people are needed as the stimulus to grow our economy and support our aging population. |
