An Israeli air strike has killed four militants in the northern Gaza Strip.
Israel's military says the militants were preparing to fire rockets across the border into southern Israel. The Popular Resistance Committees militant group has confirmed the air attack killed four of its members.
Earlier Sunday, two rockets landed in Israel, but did not cause any damage.
The violence is the latest in nearly two weeks of fighting that strains a five-month-old truce between Israel and the militant group Hamas, which rules Gaza. Israeli forces have killed at least 15 Palestinian fighters, while militant groups have fired numerous rockets, missiles and mortars across the border.
Israel's Cabinet plans to discuss today whether to open Gaza border crossings, which were closed after fighting broke out, preventing humanitarian supplies from reaching the territory.
On Saturday, Palestinians hoping to pick up food at a U.N. agency in the Gaza Strip went home empty-handed, as Israel continued its blockade amid the violence.
U.N. spokesman Chris Gunness says although the attacks are intolerable, they are not a justification for cutting off aid to some 750,000 Palestinians in Gaza.
Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat says President Mahmoud Abbas will meet outgoing Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in Jerusalem Monday to discuss the renewed fighting around Gaza.
