Ever Feel Faceless?

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Many of us desire to make a difference and be used by GOD. But we all do not believe that GOD would choose us to do something that would make a significant impact. Both Scripture and history show that GOD often chooses to reveal His power through those we least expect. GOD delights in using ordinary people to do extra-ordinary things!

We can be used by GOD. He desires that we step out in faith so that He can reveal Himself through us.  How can this happen?  What might be some steps taken towards becoming useable?

We should realize that GOD sees us in a different light th an we see ourselves .

But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7

We also need to understand GOD's standard for our hearts .

I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.  Psalm 102:2

His plan is that we live a blameless life, not just in outward appearance, but that we will also have a blameless heart where only He can see. This is a supernatural plan.  It is something only GOD can work into our lives. It allows us to become vessels of honor useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.

To live a blameless life involves some sacrifice and dedication, but it can be accomplished with the aid of the Almighty GOD.

A place to start in the quest for a blameless life might be in self examination.  Examining ourselves in the light of GOD's Word helps us to see ourselves as GOD sees us.  But the thrill of that understanding is that once we can see our sin and our shortcomings, we can take appropriate action.  That action is simply to  admit sin, confess it and move on to the next step in living a blameless life.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.  Hebrews 4:12

When searching to live a blameless life we should explore for ourselves the truth of GOD's will .  When we explore the truth of GOD's will, we realize He wants us to experience both His forgiveness and His cleansing. GOD's will is like a bolt from heaven to earth!  It is a real thrill of hope and an encouragement to believe that His will for all of us is a changed life, not simply a forgiven life. He will give us all we need so that we can be all He wants.

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 1 Peter 1:3

GOD's standard of a blameless life and a blameless heart is a reality that only GOD can produce in your life. To see Him accomplish that goal requires that we take the knowledge of our own sin, link it with a true belief in GOD's love and forgiveness and take action.

What action might that be?   Ask Him to fill you and to take control of your life which includes your attitudes and your actions. The great tragedy of the Christian life is that many times we fail to take this last step. Instead we say something to the effect of  "Okay, Lord, now that I know what You want me to do, I'll do it!" When we do that, our Christianity becomes an act - one that we can keep up well or not so well - but still only an act.  It's Jesus not us!!!

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.  Galatians 2:20

As we seek to let Jesus live in us in each situation we find ouselves in, we discover that our Christian life is becoming less of an act.of us, and more of an act of GOD.

GOD desires to do great things through you as you step forward in obedience. It's encouraging that He chooses to use ordinary people like us.  When we release ourselves to Him, He is able to do what He needs to do so that it's all about Him.and not about us at all!

Are you willing to stand in the gap and while waiting for our Lord to return, to work here on earth? There are plenty of those who are lost and face a certain and hopeless eternity. The kind of people for whom GOD is looking, chooses and calls are those that are faithful, available and teachable.

You don't have to be a Peter, Paul or a John the Baptist for GOD to use.  Think of the twelve disciples. What a motley crew!  They were ordinary to say the least!  GOD uses other ordinary people like them too, people who daily trust their life and way to GOD and with his help seek to serve and obey him faithfully in all the circumstances of life.

Make yourself available every day.for GOD to use. He will most certainly use you in some way.  If you have doubts on how to be available pray and tell GOD you are available.now.  Then renew that prayer every single day.

We need to be teachable and learn GOD's ways more clearly by studying and knowing what his Word, the Bible, teaches and applying the principles found therein to our everyday living.  Read the scriptures.  See just how many people in scripture were ordinary, faceless people.  More importantly see how GOD used these sometimes nameless and faceless people to accomplish great things in GOD's plan for mankind.

Where do you stand today?  Do you feel ordinary?  Do the things you do seem meaningless and unexciting?   The Christian life is an exciting adventure. It is a gift from GOD. Think about asking GOD today to fill you and empower you with His Holy Spirit so that you can live a glorifying life unto Him?

Don't forget. Be blessed and meditate or meditate and be blessed.. the choice is yours!
